Sadio Cissokho delivers his music straight from the Casamance region of Senegal exporting fierce sabar drum patterns and the national dance style of mballax as well as diambadong, eekon kon and manding afro beat. Griot kora master Sadio Cissokho was born into a musically famous Jali family which have functioned as carriers of history and tradition in the Southern region of the country for over 700 years. His enchanting Mandinka struggle songs are accompanied by West African bass grooves bound by the forceful Casamance drum kit sound bringing the experience of modern Senegal directly to you.

Aged 18 Sadio first left Senegal in 1996 performing with his brother Solo Cissokho
for a tour that took them everywhere between India and Norway. In 2002 he first visited
the UK playing at Womad and Glastonbury festivals and returned in 2003 touring with
the all family group Jalikunda Cissokho promoting their album 'Lyndiane'. After more
